Groovier Than A Mosquito’s Tweeter

Vinyl that has been grooving my tweeter this month…

Opening with deep house reworks of Nina Simone and Schubert by Opolopo and Kate Simko, then launching into outer space with Thomas Gandey’s version of Holst’s ‘Neptune’ from the ‘Planets’ Suite.

Satoshi Tomiie keeps us grooving though the galaxy with Ron Trent’s remix of the epic ‘Thursday, 2AM’ before Patrick Baumel delivers his slamming techno take on the drum patterns and polyrhythms of Steve Reich’s ‘Drumming’.

Back in time to ’92 for some old-skool hardcore breaks from Rhythm Junior, and then bang up-to-date with Second Storey’s electro-tech ‘Vapor Valve’ from the neon ‘Bismuth’ 12″ (out on Houndstooth right now!) before the Chemical Brothers take the roof off, then mellow things back down (slightly) for the home straight.

Tech-house dancefloor chuggers from Detroit Swindle, Igor Vicente and DKA lead us nicely to the finale: Ben Pearce’s incredible remake of Guy Andrews beautiful techno opus “In Autumn Arms”.
